Intern (m/f/d) - Researcher in Materials Science
We are currently hiring for an exciting opportunity as an Intern (m/f/d) - Researcher in Materials Science to join our BIOVIA Team.
BIOVIA is one of the leading scientific brands within Dassault Systèmes and we offer a wide portfolio of scientific software solutions ranging from life science over quantum chemistry to materials science. In our Cologne R&D team, we are currently developing a new technology to simulate complex liquid systems. Our COSMO-RS [1, 2] based COSMOplex [3] technology offers an ab-initio based modelling of micellar systems, surfactant modeling and skin permeation and it has potential to simulate not only liquid-liquid and liquid-gas interfaces, but also liquid-solid interfaces.
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our scientific portfolio, we offer you an opportunity to join our team as an intern to improve COSMOplex further.

Role Description & Responsibilities
- Basic understanding of COSMO-RS and COSMOplex theory and methods
- Understanding the convergence algorithms and schemes
- Validate algorithms by running benchmarks and evaluating results
- Propose and implement enhancement ideas and validate them
- Document and present the result to the company stakeholders
Qualifications
- You are working on your PhD or Master in Chemistry, Physical chemistry, Theoretical chemistry, Chemical engineering or similar areas and have finished your Bachelor
- You have programming or scripting skills in a language such as C, C++, Fortran, Python (Coding is not strictly required, but would be beneficial)
- You have basic understanding of Chemistry and Thermodynamics
