About the Team:

The Director of Product Management drives the data product and analytics strategy from conception and definition through end of life. Part of the Medidata Platform team, they are responsible for advancing the team's mission to unify and streamline the platform experience for our users. They function as a central resource between Engineering, Customer Success and Sales in order to continue to meet evolving customer needs. The Director will lead a team of product managers in ensuring that the team's strategic goals are achieved while delighting the customer.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Medidata platform's data products and analytics capabilities.
  • Lead, mentor and develop team of experienced product managers.
  • Ensure customer needs and Medidata strategic goals are met, in line with latest industry trends and best practices in the data analytics, AI, and business intelligence space.
  • Promote data integrity, governance and security best practices following regulatory requirements.
  • Champion well-governed, scalable data product infrastructure and self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Collaborate across teams on market segmentation, product adoption and go-to-market plans, including pricing, positioning and packaging for a cohesive strategy.
  • Support sales and other customer-facing teams in high-value meetings with prospects and customers.
  • Act as a focal point for enhancement requests and product guidance, both for customers and internal stakeholders.

Your Competencies:

  • Enthusiastic commitment to customer advocacy, success, and customer engagement
  • Experience with the analytics and data product space in a b2b SaaS platform context
  • Demonstrated track record of prioritizing customer requirements, working with stakeholders and internal teams to define market opportunities and business plans in support of company goals
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with global cross-functional teams including software development and software quality teams
  • Experience with delivery of an enterprise product line using Agile-Scrum development methodologies
  • Strong operational mindset, with a focus on delivering results

Qualifications:

  • 10 years in progressively senior product management roles
  • 4 years experience managing teams
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Experience in the life sciences industry and in the clinical trials space is desirable

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is  $157,500 - $210,000. 

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $166,500 - $222,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $155,250 - $207,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $138,750 - $185,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $141,000 - $188,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
