Philippe Laufer has been Executive Vice-President 3DS Global Brands, with responsibility for all Dassault Systèmes’ brands since 2020. He has also been leading Customer Engagement teams since 2021.

 

Philippe Laufer’s overall mission is to create a strong sustainable relationship with users and customers: to make Dassault Systèmes’ brands “love brands”, empowering users with knowledge and know-how, while supporting the adoption of branded Industry Processes and Roles in all geographic areas with a strong focus on online engagement and the Cloud.

 

With his teams, Philippe Laufer focuses on inventing the next generation of customer value-based engagement, defining platform-based models, means, methods, as well as sales skills and competences, including Dassault Systèmes’ partners.

 

Philippe began his career at Dassault Systèmes in 1985, as part of CATIA Research and Development, with focus on design and manufacturing. After spending two years in Seattle to lay the foundations of the Boeing 777 program, Philippe managed Dassault Systèmes’ Automotive Competency Center making our solutions the industry standard. In 1996, he became head of Research and Development for CATIA’s Shape Design and Styling domain in which he leveraged his expertise to drive Dassault Systèmes’ solutions to undisputed leadership.

 

In 2006 he was put in charge of CATIA’s Global Research & Development and became CEO of CATIA in 2012. His contribution has been crucial to invent the new CATIA on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and carry on the transformation from design thinking to experience thinking. Through these experiences, Philippe acquired deep knowledge of industries and customers’ business processes.

 

Philippe earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the “Ecole Centrale de Nantes” in 1983, followed by a Master’s degree in Production Automation from the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées“ in 1984, and has a PhD in Systems Engineering.
