The licensing environment for IBM PLM software is a necessary part of the overall system’s ability to function. Choosing the right licensing environment to ensure continuous service is something that should be seriously considered. This paper will provide information and tools to help aid in the implementation of a High Availability Licensing (HAL) Cluster. This is one of LUM’s more complex configurations, which provides a very high degree of certainty that concurrent licenses will always be available, even if a network license server fails to function. This document is the result of experience gained from supporting a wide variety of customer licensing configurations.
