Sustainable Procurement

Sustainability is at the heart of Dassault Systèmes’ Corporate Purpose. This section details Dassault Systèmes Sustainable Procurement commitments and expectations to engage its Suppliers.

Sustainable Charter & Expectations

Sustainability is a key pillar of Dassault Systèmes’ strategy, guided by top management.

The Sustainable Charter with Suppliers defines our shared commitments and expectations for responsible business practices. It sets standards beyond legal requirements, reinforcing our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). As we believe in collaborating with suppliers who share our values, we expect them to align with this charter.

Watch this short video for an overview of Dassault Systèmes sustainability strategy and our expectations for suppliers.

Science-Based Targets Initiative

Science-Based Targets initiative provides a clearly defined pathway for companies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, helping prevent the worst impacts of climate change and future-proof business growth.

sbt slogan > Dassault Systèmes

Dassault Systèmes wants to collaborate more deeply with its Suppliers on climate action and commits that 50% of its Suppliers by emissions covering purchased goods and services and capital goods will have science-based targets by 2025. In that context, Dassault Systèmes is asking its Suppliers to join Science-based Targets initiative and to commit to maintain or obtain "Target Set" SBTi certification. SBTi commitment is now a major criterion for Dassault Systèmes in the selection of its Suppliers. Companies already engaged or ready to join SBTi will be favored. SBTi is mandatory for our significant Suppliers.

Dassault Systèmes has signed as of December 2014 a Supplier relationship charter ("Charte des Relations Fournisseur Responsables") with the French Ministry of Finance. In 2024, we are proud to have obtained the Responsible Supplier and Purchasing Relationships (RFAR) Label, based on the international ISO 20400 standard.

This label, awarded by public authorities (French Minister of Economy and Finance) highlights our commitments and demonstrates our determination to constantly improve our responsible purchasing practices.

Inclusive Procurement and Supplier Diversity

Dassault Systèmes Procurement is willing to collaborate with diverse Suppliers by being proactive in its Sourcing activities and generate values.

Inclusivity relationship charter-people working friendly

In France, Dassault Systèmes Procurement is developing partnerships with "Entreprises protégées et adaptées" companies providing employment for the disabled, social rehabilitation reintegration through employment (ESAT, EA, etc.)

Dassault Systèmes Mediation

Dassault Systèmes has implemented, for Suppliers located in EMEAR, a mediation process and has appointed its Group Ethics & Compliance Officer as Mediator. Roles and mission of Mediator are as follows:

le mediateur logo > Dassault Systèmes
  • Facilitates exchanges between Dassault Systèmes and a Supplier when a conflict arises and discussions between the Purchasing Department and the Supplier do not led the resolution of the conflict.
  • Acts with neutrality (he/she doesn't belong to Dassault Systèmes Purchasing Department), fairness and confidentiality. In the course of a mediation process, confidentiality of all exchanges and respect of each other is expected from Dassault Systèmes and the Supplier.

The purpose of the mediation process is not only to have Dassault Systèmes and a Supplier try to solve the conflict, but also try to keep a long-lasting relationship between the parties. Dassault Systèmes Mediator can be reached at 3DS.Suppliers-Mediator@3ds.com
