IBM and Dassault Systèmes to Showcase Customer Success at Japan CATIA Forum July 8-9 in Tokyo

Global manufacturers to speak at Asia’s largest Product Lifecycle Management forum; more than 3000 attendees expected

Tokyo, Japan and Paris, France – June 7, 2004 – IBM and Dassault Systèmes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) today announced that the 2004 Japanese CATIA Forum (JCF) will be held on July 8th and 9th at the Tokyo Bay Hotel Tokyo, Maihama, Chiba. The JCF is the largest PLM user conference in Asia and is the only event in Japan that offers educational sessions from customers, IBM, and Dassault Systèmes, as well as networking activities and access to IBM PLM business partners and Dassault Systèmes technology partners.

Once again, the conference promises to be the key PLM event of the year in Japan and will provide the latest information to help Japanese manufacturers develop their competitive advantage. At the conference, IBM customers will deliver success stories and reveal the financial returns that PLM Solutions have enabled them to achieve. IBM and Dassault Systèmes will also share with conference delegates their roadmap for the future of PLM and what they are doing to expand their offerings to better respond to the evolving needs of manufacturers.

The 2004 JCF agenda also includes more than 30 sessions, including technical classes, executive seminars and workshops. New at this year’s conference is a roundtable discussion with manufacturers from the automotive, electronics, and fabrication and assembly industries that will be moderated by Mr. Hideki Haraguchi, editor of Nikkei Information Strategy magazine.

With motivational keynote speakers and plenty of networking time to share challenges and successes with industry peers, the JCF is designed to stimulate interaction and deliver PLM-related information that attendees can put to use to enhance their own product development and manufacturing processes.

“By bringing together our customers, prospects, partners and PLM experts,” said Raoul van Engelshoven, vice president, IBM Product Lifecycle Management Asia Pacific, “we can leverage the experiences of these groups and exchange information on how PLM is being used to deliver concrete business value to Japanese industry. Delegates can harness this information to enhance their own capabilities using the IBM PLM Solution set.”

“JCF provides an opportunity for our customers to demonstrate the value of PLM by sharing their success stories and for us to discuss our plans for the future of PLM,” said Christian Nardin, managing director, Dassault Systèmes Asia.

All plenary sessions will be simultaneously translated into English and Japanese.
