Dassault Systemes’ Commitment to Footwear Industry Strengthened by Recent Partnership

Global Customer Momentum, Alliance with Leading Footwear Brand Consultancy and Dassault Systemes V6 PLM Secure Position as Industry Leader

LOWELL, Mass., March 31, 2009 — Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced it has strengthened its position as an industry leader in the PLM market for retail, footwear and apparel (RFA) through an agreement with i-generator, an innovator in brand creation for global footwear brands.  i-generator is an industry leader in the areas of footwear creation and related services, and helps its customers capture industry leadership through fast, innovative product or service development.  i-generator specializes in applied research (ergonomics, biomechanics, and neurology), biomedical engineering, mechanical and industrial design, development and sourcing.

i-generator and Dassault Systèmes’ ENOVIA brand will work together to design and deliver ENOVIA solutions to global footwear manufacturers and their supply chains to help them reduce cost and streamline their product development processes.  i-generator will also join forces with ENOVIA in leadership initiatives including its strategic customer council for footwear, industry events and global sales activities.

Peter Rueegger, partner, i-generator said, “In today’s market, global footwear companies can no longer afford slow, inefficient and out-of-date product systems and processes. The speed of the marketplaces, changing consumer tastes, and the sheer scope of footwear product ranges no longer allow for these very costly inefficiencies, and therefore make PLM a competitive necessity. We are thrilled to join forces with Dassault Systèmes to deliver industry leading solutions to the footwear market that are the platform for both in-house as well as external supply chains, and sourcing partners.”

“In the fast moving world of footwear it is imperative that companies select technology partners and solutions that can help them strengthen innovation and implement best business practices,” says Michel Tellier, CEO, ENOVIA, Dassault Systèmes.  “We are pleased to engage with footwear industry expert i-generator to help our customers meet consumer demand quickly with the best products while managing their business for sustainable growth in this challenging economic climate.”

Dassault Systèmes’ ENOVIA brand has been a thought leader and solution innovator in PLM for the RFA industry for several years, as the company recognized that the benefits of PLM were as critical to footwear and apparel manufacturing as they were for traditional manufacturing industries such as automotive and aerospace.  With the built-in flexibility and scalability of the ENOVIA solution, and its industry leading SOA platform, the company has been able to deliver industry-specific, rapidly implementable solutions based on best practices of leading industry brands.  Dassault Systèmes has established close relationships with a number of leading global RFA brands such as Guess, Under Armour, Pacific Brands and REI.

In addition, ENOVIA’s technology provides the core of the Dassault Systèmes V6 platform, a single PLM platform for managing product lifecycle business processes that will enable customers to implement industry standards and best practices. For RFA, ENOVIA has specifically developed two commercially available, off-the-shelf, Product Lifecycle Management solutions which include the ENOVIA® Apparel Accelerator™ for Design & Development and the ENOVIA Apparel Accelerator™ for Sourcing & Production. These accelerators enable companies to rapidly deploy a state-of-the-art, scalable enterprise solution for apparel design and development to take products from trend to design to sourcing to manufacturing to the customer.
