Altares Continues to Rely on Exalead for Innovation in Business-to-Business Information Services

It has never been easier to find and verify information about a company.

VÉLIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, France, June 15, 2011 – Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) announced today that its subsidiary, Exalead, a global provider of search and information access software for the enterprise and the Web, has renewed its agreement with Altares, a leading provider of information about businesses to support financial, marketing and operational decision-making.

Robust and intuitive tools offer a distinctive advantage for Altares' 20 000 client users

Altares focuses exclusively on adding value to enterprise information so its clients can make the smartest, most well-informed decisions possible. The group relies on continual innovation to meet this objective, and to differentiate itself in the marketplace. It is this commitment to innovation that led Altares to Exalead. Given the volume and heterogeneity of the data to be processed - Altares currently offers comprehensive information on 190 million companies in more than 220 countries - the group knew it had to find a precise and powerful tool for accessing, processing and delivering information.

In 2010, the Altares Group switched from a legacy product to the Exalead CloudView search and information access platform, which now provides the technological foundation for the information services Altares provides to clients and staff.

Altares first launched CloudView to support information search by client subscribers. Considering the success of this implementation, Altares has now decided to extend the use of CloudView by offering two new tools to staff: a marketing scorecard utility, and an information-matching tool to help ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the data in its corporate information databases.

"Our old search platform was no longer adequately meeting the needs of our clients. With Exalead, we were able to significantly improve the usability of the search application and the relevancy of the results. In addition, with CloudView, we gained a flexible tool for making the most of our information assets within a broad range of contexts. And, we’ve found the tools built on the Exalead architecture are very quickly adopted by users because the interface is so intuitive," stated Yann de Pontbriand, Systems and Operations Director, Altares.

"The Altares projects demonstrate that we can successfully combine what is most needed in enterprise search and information access – performance and agility – with the ease of use that comes from our experience in the area of Web search," said Guillaume Mainbourg, Deputy General Manager, Exalead, Dassault Systèmes. "Thanks to Exalead, Altares can now offer its clients and employees applications that meet their expectations and also serve the group's ambitions for the market," he concluded.
