Take it from Eddy and Daniel!
Teaching can sometimes be challenging, but, with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, CAD (Computer Aided Design) & Virtual Reality Design specialist Eddy van den Bos aims to offer students the best preparation and boost the employability of as the workforce of the future. He ensures students are exposed to and gain experience in the high-end tools available on the platform. It is key for future graduates to learn how to collaborate and perform as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
Daniel Atherstone, Education and Research Assistant, talks about how he customizes tutorials and learning material dashboards to provide students with information in a digital format. Eddy and Daniel believe that students have an intrinsic motivation for aircraft design and that the platform helps them explore and propel these motivations into ideations and creations.
The cleaner skies project
Aerodelft is a project to develop the world’s first crewed liquid hydrogen-powered aircraft. The team is currently designing and manufacturing a 1:3 scale aircraft powered by hydrogen. They aim to increase aircraft efficiency by eliminating CO2 emissions altogether through highly complex assembly systems developed on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. “All hands in” is their approach, meaning close team collaboration, supported by data that is updated constantly in real-time.
A new era in design
Eddy explains how, with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, they’ve entered a new era in designing and developing innovative ideas. It comes with the flexibility to work from anywhere and anytime, using any device. For them, the platform is the perfect tool for creating powerful and unique solutions. More importantly, it’s used by industry leaders who need graduates already equipped to work and collaborate in a digital environment, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
